The Word of God
Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was made and through whose life, death, and resurrection God fashions a new creation.
The proclamation of God’s message to us as both law and gospel is the Word of God, revealing judgment and mercy in the person and work of Jesus Christ through whom God was pleased to reconcile all things to himself.
The canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God. Inspired by God’s Spirit speaking through their authors, they record and announce God’s revelation centering in Jesus Christ. Through them God’s Spirit speaks to us to create and sustain Christian faith and fellowship for service in the world.
We believe, teach, and accept the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the sole authoritative source and norm of our proclamation, faith, and life without error in its original manuscripts.
The Trinity
We believe, teach, and confess the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons of the Godhead are co-equal, co-eternal, perfectly aligned and have always existed.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, and that He was born of a virgin, that He lived a sinless life, that He died on the cross for our sins, rose on the third day, eventually ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return to reign in power and glory.
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again in power and glory, at a time that is not disclosed in the Scriptures, and that we need to be ready for His return.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and that He lives inside each believer, empowering us for daily living.
Sin
People are created by God in his image, but we have separated ourselves from God through sin and need His saving grace.
Eternity
We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. Those who are forgiven will spend eternity with God; those not forgiven will be eternally separated from God.
Salvation
The forgiveness of sins is only available through the person and shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is the free gift of God’s grace and cannot be earned in any way. We receive God’s grace by putting faith in Christ – making Him Lord of our lives, repenting of our sin, confessing our faith in Jesus as God, and being baptized, immersed, into Christ.
The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, and that God has called believers to gather together in local church families.
Gender
We believe that God wonderfully creates each person as either male or female as part of His design and plan. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
Marriage
We believe in the Biblical definition of marriage and that it is a sacred and holy covenant between one man and one woman in an exclusive union. That marriage is instituted by God and publicly entered into before God.
